FAQ - Asset Program Management
Asset Program Management - Frequently Asked Questions

Nondestructive testing (NDT) is the broad, interdisciplinary field that includes many ways of testing structures without damaging their structural integrity. Nondestructive evaluation (NDE) is a specific type of testing within that field that involves quantitative measurements, such as the size and shape of a particular structural defect. Exo uses a wide range of NDT techniques, including NDE, in our inspection program.

A comprehensive approach to asset management includes monitoring the engineering, manufacturing, construction, and maintenance utilized in your asset program. If assets are correctly manufactured, they will have fewer structural defects from the start. Proper construction ensures they will be structurally sound for longer and regular maintenance (coupled with proactive inspection) further increases their durability and longevity.
