What in the world is Exo’s Texas Barbecue and Beer Bus Tour?

Your friends at Exo have chartered a 64 passenger tour bus in order to lead you on a Texas barbecue and beer adventure. The tour will take you from the TSDOS conference in Frisco to Deep Ellum (Historic Cultural Arts District in Dallas). Along the way, you will experience Texas raised Wagyu brisket, as well as samples from two “Texas Monthly Top 50” restaurants, before heading back to Frisco.

Enjoy the ride with ice cold bottles of Texas craft beer and color commentary from R-C Ranch House Chef, Rick Dixon (three-time Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo barbecue cookoff champion).

This is going to be one for the books! Here are just a few items we have planned for you, as a special guest of Exo:

  1. All aboard: Texas raised Wagyu brisket, just to get things rolling!

Chef Rick Dixon delivers a sample of the most tender, delicious brisket you will ever taste. If you have never tried Wagyu beef, you are in for a rare barbecue treat. Pair this salty delicacy with an ice cold bottle of “Golden Opportunity” from Peticolas, Texas Craft Brewery.

  1. A Hot “Texas Twinkie” and a “50 Ft. Jackrabbit” for the road!

Hutchins Barbecue (Texas Monthly’s, “Top 50 Texas BBQ Joints”, 2021 ) is famous for these smoked jalapeño peppers stuffed with brisket, cream cheese, and thick-cut bacon! As the bus rolls on you’ll get one of these paired with a cold “50 Ft. Jackrabbit” by Texas Ale Project.

  1. Final destination: Step off the bus, and enjoy a three-meat plate of smoked perfection!

The Pecan Lodge has been a consistent selection in Texas Monthly’s, “Top 50 Texas BBQ Joints” for years, reaching as high as number 2. Our tour will stop here for a three-meat plate served buffet style, including pork ribs, brisket and smoked jalapeño cheddar sausage links. Don’t forget a side of golden “mac n’ cheese” and barbecue baked beans! Also, don’t miss the homemade peach cobbler and banana pudding. Finally, slug down a cold “Hefe” from “Legal Draft Texas Brewery” as the house band plays authentic country music covers from the likes of Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson.
