Area Lighting Technician
Summary

The Area Lighting Technician is responsible for completing various nondestructive testing methods under the supervision of an Area Lighting Trainer to learn and understand all required dimensional and non-destructive inspections. The Technician will also interpret and evaluate the results of the inspection with respect to applicable codes, standards, and specifications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Complete various nondestructive testing methods.
- Complete required documentation.
- Learn all aspects of are lighting inspection so that the employee can be approved to complete inspections on their own.
- Complete all magnetic particle and visual inspection of welds, record all hours related to this inspection to put towards applicable certification.
- Responsible for observing and/or performing inspection with respect to applicable codes, standards, and specifications whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Exo.
- Experience with a variety of office software (email tools, spreadsheets and databases) for report writing and communication.
- Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
- Other duties as assigned or required.
Qualifications
- HS Diploma or GED
- Must show an openness and willingness to learn all aspects of the inspection role
- Must be hard working and able to work long hours
- Extensive travel is required and estimated at 40 weeks of the year
- (Preferred) NDT classroom hours for VT
- (Preferred) NDT classroom hours for MT
- (Preferred) NDT classroom hours for VT
- (Preferred) Experience in a weld shop or manufacturing environment
